Start to make money from all the affiliate and associate programs you keep signing up with and forgetting about
OK. We all do it.
The first flush of e-money excitement and we sign up to everything...
We soon learn otherwise.
Having said that, they are now almost an essential part of internet business - if handled properly.
There are many people making considerable income from these, and are also a perfect starting point for someone wanting to start their own affiliation program.
One
Make a list of all your affiliations.
Divide them into 2 groups. The ones that are meant to earn commissions from real product sales (not paid to...), and the ones that aren't (advertising programs etc).
Check them to see if they are still running.
Dump the ones that never worked in the first place. (clear the dead wood)
And dump the ones that just don't fit in to your overall business.
Focus, Focus and Focus.
Within each group, divide them again into categories, i.e. advertising, courses, email marketing, paid to... etc
Visit the all your affiliation sites and get all their advertising copy ready.
Preferably rewrite it - personalise it (aren't you sick of getting the same letter promoting the same thing again and again...and again...and..)
As well as salesletters for individual products, write up salesletters 'bundling' products together ... Some free advertising links, Top selling ebooks from the Internet Masters etc
File all your salesletters ready for use.
NOTE: Most of your affiliations won't make you rich.
But promoted properly, some will be of help building up your client base,
and some have the potential to develop an income.
The ideal is to develop your own product - or at the minimum, develop a very particularly themed site.
Two
If you haven't already done this bit - why the hell not!
Build your existing customer list.
You can download Aureate Group Mail here... which is a great mailing program. (the advert sponsored version is free! - You'll find it in 'downloads')
Transfer your customer list - either as one list, 'group of products' list, or individual lists for each product/service you promote.
Now start backending.
Send your salesletters promoting similar products to your existing lists.
i.e. someone who has joined an advertising affiliation through you can be sent details of similar affiliations you promote.
Start working your existing customers. No matter you've only got 18...you've already made contact and further contact is automatically easier (unless the stuff you 'sold' them was rubbish...in which case you should be learning a lesson - don't promote/sell rubbish!)
This sounds so simple and basic, you'd be surprised the number of people
who don't do it.
Know your customers, and stay in touch with them.
Three
Make up webpages or 'mini-sites' on your site promoting these 'themed' groups.
Put in some free and valuable information ...
articles are good, or some decent reports, or better, write something yourself.
Formula for writing something yourself here.
By promoting your grouped affiliations on your own mini-sites, and offering some unique information for free, you are much more likely to get visitors to stay and study what it is you are offering.
A wish changes nothing.
A decision changes everything.
