It's important to note that this script is actually a Wrapper function for the Google Languages Tools. What it does is to provide a set of Flag icons representing the currently supported languages and automates the translation process for your visitors, so they needn't leave your site.
When a visitor clicks a Flag, that web page is transmitted to Google, translated and then cached locally on your server in the Cache Folder. The newly translated page is displayed to the visitor with all links actively pointing back to your other pages.
The cache is automatically updated every three days by default, this reduces the server load on Google and delivers the translated page to the visitor faster.
This script makes it easy for your visitors to view your content in their native language, which creates Stickiness for them to return again and again.
Additionally, by using translated pages, you actually add to your existing content by a factor of nine (assuming you are translating from one of the languages supported).

Hello Raman,
It does happen very occasionally when loads of people repeatedly click on the flags, Google temporarily 'disable' that site.
This is happening here as I am showing this site as an example, so loads of people are clicking the flags!
In normal use this almost never happens, and if it does, Google allows the script to work after a day or two.
The latest version has a custom error page that asks the visitor to call back later.
Also remember, that as well as being a service to your foreign visitors, the script gets your pages indexed by Google in more languages - so a larger index of pages ...
